While shopping
on the Internet is getting ever more popular, the best
way
to get the lowest price is to be able to compare prices
from many stores.
Unfortunately, I have found that other "compare prices"
sites are selling
their top listings to the highest bidder -they're selling
out!
I want a performance-based web site that says, "If
you have the best deal, then you are getting a higher
listing". Yet the highest listing is not established
on price alone; a store must also maintain an acceptable
rating as well. Store ratings rise or fall through the
process of user reviews; in this way our community can
aid and police itself.
The recent launch of Bidango.com website has brought
much excitement here and is an important milestone in
our web development. With Bidango we now have the ability
to compare prices on millions of products and hundreds
of stores. Hosted with two new Linux servers and 4 gigs
of product data, we are taking this project very seriously.
We receive weekly feeds from our partner stores to assure
that we have current information for the customer, and
we are able to do extensive manipulation of the data
before and after import to add value for our customers.
The site is written in JSP, and we have mastered the
ability to modify the information as it comes from the
database as well as the URL you see in the address bar!
We have pulled out all the tricks with having reviews,
login accounts, and a search bar. In the future, we
want to take this to the next level and develop a truly
revolutionary tool to make sure the customer finds the
lowest price anywhere!
Bidango is gathering link popularity and categorizing
more data daily. Currently ware working on a new website
design for the next phase of Bidango. Continue to check
back with us as a resource for your online shopping.
